- De Notre-Dame is een imposante, in vroeggotische stijl opgetrokken kathedraal op het eiland midden van de Seine, “Ile de la Cit?”, in het centrum van Parijs. De kathedraal werd in opdracht van bisschop Maurice de Sully gebouwd in de tijd van Lodewijk VII. De eerste steen werd in 1163 door paus Alexander III geplaatst. De bouw werd in 1345 voltooid.
